butory shares at par. Is on application; is on allotment; balance in calls as required, not exceeding Gd per share per month. The property is the late wellknown Alpine mine at Lytll, West Coast oi South Island, formerly one of the largest gold producers in ihe colony. Prospecting operations conducted since the late Company disposed of the mine have disclosed a new reef in virgin country, north of No. 7~level; of ahnrat phenomenal i iebness, shewing- coarse gold freely all aver the fr.ee, in splendid track of 4 to 5 feet wide, in very kindly solid country". It is widening as driven upon, as well as steadily inproving in value, and bqs every indication of permanency. The stone is of higher grade than any previously found in the mine, and so fairs is known is richer than any hitherto mined on the West Coast. Assays made from trial lots from new leef taken at random across the face, and believed to be fair average samples, have given the remarkable results of fiom £219 to-;£!lG per ton at assay department, Bank of New Zealand, Auckland; whilst parcel of about 5G lbs. similarly taken by Mr. Curtis, mine manager, as fair trial, gave at Ileefton School of Mines at rate of 970 z. 13chvt. per ton, gold being worth about £4 per oz. The mine is equipped with complete plant of 20 stamp battery, driven by Peltra wheels, amjile water power, and valuable extensive watjr races and other necessary rights; air compressors and pipes; miles of rock tunnels to reef in 12 levels; and represents as it stands a cash outlay of over £50,000. The property lends itself to economical working, having about 1,500 feet of hacks level free." The famous “Tjrconnel,” “Break o’ Day,” and “Little Wonder” claims are all included in the Company’s extensive holdings, which total about 170 acres on line and underlie lodes. As a limited number only of shares is reserved for Gisborne, early application is necessary. Prospectus anil forms of. application may be had, and samples of stone inspected at office of the brokers. ■ W. LISSANT CLAYTON. List open for two weeks only.
