Goat’s lnilk, which is largely used in the mountainous districts of Europe, has never attained much popularity in Britain and the colonies. Somo time ago Dr. F. Beel advocated its use in infant feeding. He reported a number of cases of wasting infants in whom improvement began as soon as they were put upon a mixture of goats’ milk and water, instead of cows’ milk, modified in various ways. Dr. Beel says, the goat is more docile, less excitable, and not subject to consumption pr any other disease in this' climate. Being a brower rather than a greater, she will thrive where cows woidd not, and above all she is cleanly. It is safe to assort that the production of cows milk free from liiauure germs is commercially impossible. Hot so with the goat; she can be easily washed (tubbed if necessary), -and- aproned for milking. Dr. Bee. believes an assured non-coil taminated goats milk supply is not only commercially possible but- profitable.
