RIFLE SHOOTING. BRADLEY WINS THE CHAMPIONSHIP. Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, last night Oil Championship day there was ideal weather for shooting, the only fault being that the light was a little too strong. The shooting opened with a continuation of the Service -All) yards rapid match. . The following are the principal winners : —Marett (Taranaki), 35, £3 3s; Smaill (Kaitangata), 33, £2; Dick (Rrversdale), 32, Mogridge (Palmerston North) 31. £1 10s. The Canterbury Match (500 600, and 700yds) was completed, the principal winners being McLay (Masterton), 96, £l6 16s; King (Opaki), 96, £8 8s; Martin (Waikouaiti), 95, £5 ss. The championship caused great excitement. Bradley, of Dunedin, was leading before lunch, but the championship was not decided till after 4 p.m. Bradley won with an aggregate of 433; jViclvonzie, Oamaru, 429. Dulcy, of Dannevirke, put up the possible at 700 yards, winning the Stewart-Dawson Cup. McLey (Masterton) wins the Stead Cup for the highest scorer under 21. The cadet teams match, of 200 and 500 yards, was won by the Wanganui cadets. Barclay (Waimate) won the public school cadet match, 100yds. There were forty-nine other prizes. McGride-o (Palmerston North) wins the Snow Cup of aggregate service matches. Sergt. McKenzie (Oamaru) wins the Colonial Ammunition Company’s cup for the highest aggregate championship in service matches.
