THE LOCAL SALES. There was a record yarding at the Matawhero stock sales yesterday, tho number including about 21,000 slieop, besides cattle. The prices, as expected ill view of tho slaughtermen’s trouble, was easier for fat stock.

The Colonial Consignment and Distributing Company to-day cabled from Loudon:- —A further decline in the values of frozen meats. To-day’s quotations are: Canterbury mutton 4Jd, Napier, Weliugtou, and North Island 4d; lamb, first quality, old, second old; beef, binds 3jd, fores 3Jd.
