Mr V.Wilkinson,now of Wellington, is at present on a holiday visit to his old home in Gisborne. ' Messrs. G. Darton and W. Morgan left last evening for Napier to attend the meeting of the Hawke’s Bay Education Board, which is to be held Waikare, yesterday, Mr. A. J Massey left for Feilding, where he will assume a musical appointment. Mr. and Mrs. A. B. Carmichael left yesterday on a trip to England Mr. Carmichael was “farcwelled” by the Poverty Bay Turf Club on Saturday afternoon. The Itov. C. -E. Fox, ot Norfolk Island, who is one of the masters o the Melanesian College there, 1 sat , ~f Cn t on .1, visit to Gisborne. Mr. Fox is a sou of Canon Fox who for many vcars was vicar of Holy tunny Church, and he occupied the pulpit of that church on Sunday evening. Mr and Mrs A. J.Denton, of Haiti, two of the earliest pioneers ot tlio colony, celebrated their golden wedding last week.
