Co’s. Squall arrived * * from Napier at 8 p.m. on Thursday and proceeded to Auckland direct at 5 p’.m. with nearly 500 sheep on account of Mr. G. J. Black. The N,.Z. Shipping Co’s s.s. Opawa’ arrived from Auckland on Ihursday morning to load for London, and is expected to leavo to-night for South. Tho scow Alert left Kiripaka last Monday night with 130 tons of coal for Robb Bros. Light northerly winds were experienced nearly all tho voyage. Tho vessel arrived at 10 a.in. yesterday and is expected to completo discharging on Tuesday night, when she will return to Kiripaka. * . The schooner Awanui left Tairua last Wednesday evening with 73,000 feet of timber‘for various consignees and arrived at 10 a.m. yesterday after a good trip. The vessel is to be in charge of Capt. Probort (of the ketch Coronation), commencing this trip, Capt. R. W. Cliffe having been appointed to one of the Craig vessels.
The U.S.S. Co’s. Talune arrives from Auckland to-morrow afternoon and proceeds to Napier and South in the evening. Last launch 5 p.m. (meantime.)
