TURANGANUI CLUB,

Notwithstanding tho broken weather of the past week, a large number of games were played on the above club’s green, good progress being made with the championship singles. Yesterday afternoon the green was well patronis'd, some close games ensuing. The results were: — HANDICAP FOURS.

The first round in the above competition for the medals presented by the President was continued, when Colley’s and Nasmith’s (jun) rinks met, the result being: Earle, Lucas, Morrison, Nasmith

jun (skip) 19 defeated Neill, Joyce, Jenne, Colley (skip) 15.—The green being heavy' did not allow of firstclass play, but a good game ensued. CHAMPION CUP. The competition for tlio above was continued, the results being— First round: Bennott defeated Nasmith (jun).

Second round: Barry defeated McConnell* Hallani defeated Sawyer. Third round: Bennett deleated Barry, Fourth round: Maekrcll defeated Nasmith (jun), Sawyer defeated Bennett.

Fifth round: Colley deleated Hallam, Martin defeated Nasmith (jun). Sixth round: Hepburn defeated Barry. Seventh round: Morrison defeated Mackrell, Nasmith (jun) defeated -Jenne, Hepburn defeated McConnell. Eighth round: Mackrell defeated Barry, Lucas dofeated Morrison. Ninth round: Maekrcll defoated Lucas.

Tenth round: Hallani defeated Mackrell. Eleventh round: Mackrell defeated Sawyer. The following is the position of the various players after the second week’s play:— Played. Won. Lost.

TURANGANUI V. GISBORNE. A return match between the above clubs lias been arranged for Thursday next. The games are to take place at the Turanganui Club’s green, and it is expected good play will bo witnessed.

GISBORNE CLUB. • At the Gisborno Club’s green yesClai'kson and Craig (1G) in the semiterday Eure and Dodd (19) defeated final of the Handicap Pairs. Yesterday’s winners meet Coleman and Wilson in the final at an early date. The following ordinary games were also played: O’Meara, Hennessy, W. Pettie, and Robertson (22) beat Mackrell Wallace, Harding and Crawford (20); Redstono, "Williams, Ambridge and Witty (30) beat Miller, Neal, McGowan and Harris (10).

At a meeting of tho comittco held after the play it was decided to acept the invitation of tho Turanganui Club to play a return match of five rin'ks on Thursday next. The following skips were chosen for the rinks: Harding, Ponsford, Crawford, Siinson, and Coleman. The rinks will bo picked later by the committee.
