The auxiliary ketch Kereru lett Auckland on Friday evening, 26t)h April, the weather being fine and the wind to N.W. At 1 p.m. Sunday Cape Runaway was reached and 12 tons cargo landed. The vessel then left for Opape, where 620 puriri posts were shipped and proceeded to Kawakawa, where several boatloads were discharged. At the latter place the wind shifted round from N.E. to S.AV. Hick's Bay was worked on Wednesday, Ist iiisf.j and To Araroa the following day. East Cape was reached on the 4th, but could not be negotiated, and the vessel put back to Te Araroa for shelter, tlie wind coming up strongly from S.E. On the 7tli the captain attempted to round the Cape, but was again compelled to return. The Cape, however, was finally rounded, and Port Awanui was worked on the Bth, Waipiro on the 9th and 10th, To'komaru Saturday last, and the vessel arrived in the bay at 2 a.m. yesterday. The sco wAlert' is expected to leave to-day for Kiripaka. The auxiliary Waiapu expects to get away for Te Araroa this afternoon.
The s.s. Putiki arrives this morning’s tide from Wanganui with a load of pipes for the watermains. ■ The U.S.S. Co’s. Moura arrives from Napier and South on Wednesday morning and leaves for Auckland. The U.S.S. Co’s. Waikare arrives from Auckland and Sydney Wednesday afternoon and leaves for South in the evening.
