Miller and Craig report a large attendance at their mart on Saturday, and the following prices were realised: Butter lOd to Is, fresh eggs 2s 3d, duck eggs 2s, hams Bd, bacon Bd, pumpkins 2s 6d doz., kumaras lid lb, Tasmanian potatoes 14s sack, pie melons 6d each, pickling onions lid, marrows 2s 6d doz., fowls Is 3d to Is lOd, turkey gobblers 6s 6d, hens 4s.

The Department of Industries and Commerce have received the following cable from the High Commissioner, dated London 17th inst.:—The wool sales have closed. • The market remains firm./ The consumption is good on account of the brisk trade experienced, and prospects are favorable. Estimated values are as follows: Fine crossbreds/,all grades Is 2d to Is 4d per lb; medium crossbreds; all grades to Isl jd per lb; coarse crossbreds, all grades, lOd to Is Ojd per lb; superior merino Is to Is 2d per lb; medium merino, lid to Is Id per lb; inferior merino 8d to 10 1-3 d per lb. ’ r
