Press Association. ' CHRISTCHURCH, last night. The wheat and flour markets ' have been more or less agitated during the week, owing to thp advance in outside markets, which has been reflected locally. At the beginning of the week flour rose from £8 ; 'lQs to £9 per ton, and a further lisp occurred yesterday, the quotations for sacks now being £9 10s, for lOQlb bags £lO, and proportionate rises for CO and 251 b bags, Wheat has advanced one penn to twopence during the week, and a rise in the price of bread is indicated for next week.

DUNEDIN, Saturday

Consequent on the rise in flour in Australia, flour on the local market which has remained at £8 15s for some months, despite the increased prices in wheat, has, during the past month, advanced £1 per ton. The Bakers’ Association meet on Wednesday to consider the matter and the probabilities are that there will be a rise of a halfpenny on the 41b loaf, now costing sixpence. ' ' ’ :
