DUNEDIN, yesterday

Josiah Earle died in his hut at Munro’s Gully, Lawrenco, last Friday. He was seon alh’o at 7 p.m. on Thursday evening, when he was sitting beside a fire in his hut. Deceased was known to have a weak heart. He was single and an old miner, and had been in receipt of a pension for some time.

The infant son of John Healey, of Fairfax, died from burns received owing to his clothes catching fire.
