In -connection with the rec.ent plot, a Russian girl student and revolutionary offered £BOO to a member 6i the Cossack bodyguard if lie would assassinate the Czar during his sleep. By direction of Prince Trubezkey, Commander of the Palace Guards, the Cossack haggled for £IOOO. When about to mount guard in the evening was fixed as the timo for the attempt. The conspirators handed him two infernal machines of the size of a watch with directions to place them beneath tho beds, of tho Czar and Czarvitch. The authorities then made numerous arrests.
