clubs, Tolaga Bay and Tokomaru, were represented. The secretary’s report and balance-sheet were- adopted as read. The balance-sheet showed a credit of £ls. • The working expenses of last year amounted to Ss. The first cup match was fixed for Juno Ist, at Tolaga Bay. The following officers were elected: —President, Mr, Wm. Oates; vice-president, Mr. G. Reynolds; hou. secretary, Mr. H. Siglcy (re-elected);- lion, treasurer, Mr. H. Fairlio (re-elect-ed). ■An interesting football match will take place ‘on the Victoria Domain to-day—hairdressers versus - trainers and jockeys. The teams are as follows : Hairdressers Full-back,- R. Emanuel; three-quarters,. A. Pirie, G. McLacldan, R. Isaac; five-eighths, B. Tanner (Captain), Ted Austin; half, C. Morse; forwards, A. Tanner, D. Dustin,-E. Allan, C. Peuwin, J. Richards, Dick, N. ' REFEREES’ .ASSOCIATION,
A meeting of the Poverty Bay Referees’ Association was held at tho Royal Hotel last evening. Mr. H. Carr was elected to the chair. Referees were selected for the matches at the Victoria Domain next Saturday, Mr. Hallamorq being chosen to control the senior game on No. I ground; and Mr. H. Carr will havo charge of the juniors on No. 2 ground. 1: The New Zealand Referees’ Association wrote requesting the local association to forward the names qf referees who are eligible for the N.Z. Association. It was decided to forward the 'names of two qf our local referees, Messrs. R. G. Hallamore and W. Howard. -
The meeting further decided to instruct the referees to exercise their powers to disallow players coming upon the field in nether garments of insufficient length. This rule was strictly enforced last year, and it is. to be hoped that there will lie no trouble over tlie matter this season. A good deal of correspondence was dealt with, and the meeting termiiir ated with a-hearty vote of thanks to the chairman.

TEAM FROM BRITAIN. WELLINGTON, yesterday
Tho New Zealand Rugby Union lias received advice from Mr. Palliscr that tho visit of the British Rugby team next year is assured. Bradford, ono of the strongest Yorkshire professional Rugby clubs, lias succumbed for want of support, and their ground has been taken over by an amateur club.
