THE SALVATION ARMY.
The bad weather that has been experienced lately has enabled Major Glover, of the Salvation Army, to prolong his stay in Gisborne.-, Ho intended to leave by last Wednesday’s boat, but the heavy seas prevented his departure. Ho will conduct the meetings in the barracks on Sunday, when it is hoped there will be a good attendance, all being cordially invited. The local interest in the Salvation Army continues to flourish, and under the able leadership of. Adjutant and Mrs. Dickens bright hopes are enetrtained for the future of the corps.
Adjutant Rowlands, “Happy Arthur,” accompanied by Adjutant Lane, will arrive in Gisborne shortly, and will conduct revival meetings at the barracks on the loth, 16th, and 17th of this month. Adjutant Rowlands is one of Gisborne’s pioneer Salvationists, and he will be heartily welgomed by a large number of old friends on his return to the town. Bandsman Foster is expected to arrive shortly from Palmerston North, and as he is a good cornet player he will be a great acquisition to the local corps band. The usual open-air meeting will be conducted by Adjutant Dickens tonight.
