United Press Association —Copyright . SYDNEY, June 2. George Towns is annoyed at the action of the Sportsman Cup trustees. Ho declared that he had never been properly notified of Barry’s cha - .lunge, either by the trustees or the challenger. His knowledge of rt was from the newspapers. He had cabled Home practically accepting 1 0 next year, and had also written explaining the position. Had it no been for the race between Charlie Towns and Webb ho would have gone Home straight away. The action of the trustees upset the whole arrangements for the visit of himself am brother to England. Continuing, lie said: “Tom Sullivan, who has custodv of the cup, can hand it over i lie iLkcs, but if the trustees demand that I forfeit the trophy neither I -or my brother will ever attempt to V regain it. I have never received _a challenge for the cup since I felt England in 1902” Towns believes the trustees aro annoyed because a message was received purporting to come from him stipulating that a race should be arranged for Charlie for the 'championship of the world when he (George) went to row for tho cup.
