Mrs. May Pepper, a celebrated New York spiritualist, has married Edward Ward Vanderbilt, whose family are applying for sequestration of his estates, on the ground that Mrs. Pepper influenced him through a sprightly spirit known to New York society as “Little Bright Eyes.”
The creditors of Milliken Bros., steel bridge builders of New York, have applied for the appointment of a receiver. Millikeu’s lawyer states the liabilities are £1,300,000 and assets £1,800,000.
