CALLIOPE DOCK

INCREASED IMPERIAL SUBSIDY

Press Association. AUCKLAND, yesterday. As the result of a conference with representatives of the Harbor Board, Commander Willis and Pleet-Pay master Grant promised to recommend to Admiral Fawkes the Board’s request for an increase of the Imperial subsidy for Calliope dock from £1475 to £3OOO yearly. It was stated the Beard had advanced £71,067, and that contracts and other liabilities undertaken by the Board amounted to £41,304. The Harbor Board decided to recommend the Marine Department to take consideration .if the early desirability of erecting more lighthouses on this coast.
