The U.S.S. Co.’s Talune arrived, from south early yesterday morning, and proceeded to Auckland at 10.30 Passengers: Inward :. Mrs. East Misses Sinclair and Steward. Messrs Ellis, Williams, Tombleson, G. Smithies, East, Porter, 'Gray, C. Smith (2), Head, G. Richardson, Sharpin, A. Ross Shaw, Asmuss, and 27 steerago. The scow Zingara- (Capt. Jensen) leaves this morning (weathor permitting) for Ngunguru to return with timber.
Captain R. M. Cliffe is in-charge of the scow Surprise, owned by Messrs. Robb Bros. The vessol is due shortly from Ngunguru. The barquentine, Frank Guy, leaves this morning for Westport. The scow Alert arrived from Ngunguru at 4 p.m. yesterday with 130 tons coal. The schooner Gisborne left Tairua at noon on Friday, the wind being northerly.' At midnight- the vessel was hove to olf Capo Runaway as a heavy gale was blowing from the north. Next morning the wind came round to S.E. and Captain Pankow anchored off Kawakawn on Sunday morning and left the following morning. Strong soutliorly winds were met with down the coast until arrival at noon yesterday. Her cargo consisted of 34,000 ft of timber for Claytor. Bros, and 25,000 ft for Macfkrell and Colley. The auxiliary schooner Fairburn left Napier for Gisborne at 12.30 on Tuesday and arrived at 10 a.m. yes-tr-iday, light winds' being encountered all the way. Tho vessel proceeds to Auckland direct about Friday or Srtluday with a cargo of grain and will return to Gisborne with a shipment of bricks for Mr. Qr. Smith. A new publication, The New Zealand Shipping Gazette, is shortly to be published in Wellington, devoted entirely to shipping interests. It will be issued every Friday. -The three-masted „ scow Southern Islo sailed from Mangatetc, on Friday last , for Gisborne with a cargo of timber. ■
