In the House of Commons Mr. Corbett’s Bill for the appointment, ol a Commissioner to inquire into the need for inspection of monastic and ci.nvenfcical institutions was read first time by 120 to 121. . members of tlio Government, including- Messrs. Haldane, and voted against the Bill, the Labor Party formerly opposed but now voted for the measure, their attitude being nscribed to the , appearance or a Nationalist candidate for tire vacancy in the Jarrow electorate. AVlien the result of the division was announced showing that more Liberals, than formerly supported the Bill the Na declared: That ends the Liberal alliance. Air. D. Kilbride: That will cost you 16 more years Tory rule. Mr. Joyce: AVe will show at Jarron what Irishmen can do.
