The traveller who suffered that •eavy loss was Mr. B. Bauer, who was iratal ly murdered in his office in Melbourne last week. At the time the ■use of watches went overboard at the

It . vns missing when he .was found in his office. The late Air. Bauer had many ■‘lends in New Plymouth, especially n tlie Jewish community. He was exceedingly popular among business ’lien, having a genial manner, and an infectious, laugh. _ He- was in New lymouth last Christmas.
