Wheat: Markets closing steadier after- a relapse, owing to large arrivals off coast, more favourable weather reports form the Continent-, and weak American quotations. Little demand for cargoes. Holders are asking 33s 6d to 33s 9d for Feb- * ruary-March shipment, 34s 6d to 35s for April-May. 3556 d for June-July, and 35s 6d for July-August shipment. Australian spot exhausted; nominal value 3os to 365.
Flour: Market practically at a standstill for Australian, London quotations 23s 6d to 24s 6d. At Glasgow 26s 6d is asked for June-July shipment, with no buyers. Butter: Flat. Nominally unchanged. The bulk of the Australian arrivals are being stored. Danish 108 s to 110 s. The Bradford wool market is quiet but firm. Forties 163 d, forty-sixes 18s, common sixties 27d, super 2S)d. MEAT COMPANY DIVIDEND. Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH Yesterday. The Christchurch Meat- Company have declared an interim dividencT of eight- per cent. WELLINGTON Yesterday. A cable from the High Commissioner, London, dated tho 22nd inst states.: Tho butter market is weak and there is dull sale for heavy carcases, hut a good demand for prime quality. Average prices are: Canterbury 3Jd, North Island 3yd- The lamb market is a shade weaker. The stocks on hand are heavy and widely distributed amongst agents, who are pushing sales. A further drop in'- prices is imminent. Canterbury brands are at OJd, other than Canterbury sd. The beef market is very firm for best quallty, only -the market is overstocked with inferior quality and depressed tor this class. Hindquarters 3Jd, fores 3sd. Tlie- butter market remains firm. Choice New Zealand is at 995, Siberian 925, Irish 101 s, Danish 109 s. The cheese market is quiet. Prices . are slightly weaker. New Zealand white is at 635, Colored 625. Can- > adian supplies are increasing. New made white front that country is at 60s, colored 595. The hemp market is firm at £34. The market for Bradford tops is quiet and there is small business doing.
