A preliminary enquiry concerning the wreck of the Emma Sims on Kapiti Island was held to-day by the Collector of Customs. He reports that in his opinion the master d' all he could for the safety of the vessel. AUCKLAND, yesterday. The scow Curlew, which went ashore at Whangaparoa last week, has been refloated and towed to Auckland for repairs.

AUCKLAND, yesterday. Mr. Justice Denniston granted decrees nisi in the cases of Angus Finlayson v. Margaret Finlayson, with the custody of the children, respondent having disobeyed an order of the Court for restitution of conjugal rights; also in George Thomas v. Ethel Hargreaves Thomas and Ernest AJbert Tardieu, co-respondent, misconduct. In this case evidence was adduced that respondent and corespondent were living a few miles out of Gisborne. In Edwin William Robinson v. Christina B. Robinson and Frederck Conrad Fiddy, eo-re-spondent; a decree nisi, was granted on the grounds of misconduct.
