'Tlie ■ parchment' scroll, to be sunk into the memorial fountain to the ' date Mrs SievWriglit, will contain the ' signatures of the following :—Mem- ■! ■ bers of the Borough Council, County 'Council, Harbor Board, Hospital Trustees, Licensing Bench, M.H.lt.’s, 'Justices of the Peace, ministers of religion, bankers, merchants, lawyers, High School Board of Governors, school committeemen, and the Memorial Committee'. The Acts which have been passed since the women’s franchise was granted for the good of women and children will be attached. Tho list includes Acts in reference to the following : Divorce, Female Law Pfactitinners, Married Persons,; Suminaw Separation, ; Midwives, Adoption of Children, Legitimation Act and Amendment. Juvenile Smoking Supression, Infant Life Protection, Old Ago Pensions, Inebriate Institutions, Destitute Persons, Married Women’s Property, , Criminal Code Act- and Amendment Act, Electoral. ’ The publication “White Ribbon” for tho loth March, 1005, containing Mrs Sievwright’s portrait, her memorial card, a Maori kit presented 1 by -Mrs Carroll, coins of the realm, six copies of the National Council of Women’s meetings in New Zealand, ; notices of motion for 1900, photo-' graphs of Gisborne, and copies of the ' local newspapers (to-day’s copy of the ; Gisborne Times), will- be inserted, s The late Sir John .Hall was a sup--1 porter of women’s franchise, s The fountain itself is en route i from England, and should arrive > shortly ; it is past the contract date. ’ The foundation is being laid at pre- ) sent, and should he completed in a - couple of days.
