SCHOOL TEACHERS’ SALARIES.
Press Association, DUNEDIN, last night. The Otago Educational Institute to-day rejected Air. Davidson’s proposal to amend the present system of teachers’ salaries, on the ground that it did not get rid of the objectionable principle of payment according to attendance. The following resolution was carried,—“That teachers he paid a fixed minimum salary, based on efficiency to be determined by ability, literary attainments, and length of service; and that a fixed minimum lie supplemented by increments based on tho amount of labor and responsibility of the position.
