Bribory and Solano are equal favorites for the Caulfield Hurdles, and Divham for the Steeplechase. Maranui has been in good request for the Melbourne Cup.

WELLINGTON MEETING. Press Association. WELLINGTON, Saturday. For the concluding day of the Steeplechase Meeting showery weather was experienced. The attend- | ance was large. Tho going was heavy. The sum .of £18,334 was passed through tho totalisator, malt- 1 ing £52,030 for the nieeting, against £26,876 last year (two days). The winning double on the July Steeple- - chase and Winter Oats paid £IJAfter the Onslow Handicap, R. Milne (rider of St. Claimer) lodged a complaint against H. Cairns (rider of Kaiuku) for alleged interference. The Stewards decided to suspend Cairns during pleasure. Results: — Onslow Handicap, six furlongs— Jolly Friar, 10.3, 1; Gawam, 10.0, 2: St. Claimer, 10.3, 3. Also started—De Witte, Chicane, Kaiuku, Silver Shell. Won comfortably by three lengths. Time, Imin 23 4-osec. Divs, £3 12s and £1 7s. I Crofton Hack Handicap, seven furlongs—William, 9.10, 1; Tangaroa, 9.11, 2; Compass, 9.13, 3. Also I started —Gauze, Iceland, Hinupai, I Grand Circle, Scenery, Lady Letlio, I Papatawa. Won by a length, lime, | Imin 39 l-ssccs. Aquillo led for about, six I furlongs where Haydn took charge. I At the end of a round he was joined by Khama, the other pair being right out of it. Haydn and Ivhama raced on level terms until the brush fence at tlio fivo furlong post was cleared, where the former drew away. Khama Was being ridden. Coming into tho straight Haydn cleared the last obstaclo with a good lead and scored a- popular wm by two lengths, Needleworfi a hundred yards away. Aquillo pulled up on entering the straight. Time, 6mms 15 2-ssecs. Div, £2 13s. Winter Oats Handicap, 1 mile— Seaman, 10.2, 1; Kukil, 10.0, 2; Mataari, 9.4, 3. Also started —Montigo, Kurawaka-, Clancliattan, Whakawehi, Shrapnel Shell, Chatterer, Lady War- : wick Hatley, Naphtha, Rosegrove. Mataaari and Whakawehi were prominent- for half way. The latter dropped back beaten at tho home bend where Mataari, Kuku and Seaman comprised the leading division. The latter came away at the distance and won easily by four lengths. There was a good race for second i place between Ivuku, Mataari and Whakawehi. Time, Imin 55 l-ssecs.
