MATAWHERO STOCK SALE.
Tho N.Z. Loan anti Mercantile Agency report as follows: —As might he expected with a winter sale, the attendance was rather below the average. All good lines, however, that came found ready buyers at following values :• —
Sheep.—We yarded 1528, and sold 1818 at following quotations: Wethers 16s Gd, ewes in lamb 12s 8d ior aged lines, 15s to 16s for better lots, owptv ewes 8s to 9s for lots in low condition up to 13s 8d for forward cues, hoggets, culls 9s 9d, better giown lots 10s 6d to 11s 7d. Cattle. —There was no improvement in tho demand. Tho class of cattle coming forward, however, was below tho average, and we yarded 133 and soil 59 at for 18 months to 2-year-old heifers £2 7s Gd, steers same age £3 os, good yoaners 345, small calves 13s.
Our next sale will be held on Thursday, Bth August, for which we shall be glad to receive entries as early as possible.
