AN AUCKLAND OPINION
A MANUFACTURERS’ AGITATION
AUCKLAND, last night. In connection with the telegram dealing witht the Harvester Trust, the manager of one of the largest hal'd ware warehouses in Auckland ; —“I think you will find that this agitation in Christchurch has been got up by the manufacturers and not importers. It was at the former’s instigation that last year s Act was passed. In Christchurch and Dunedin the manufacture of agricultural machinery is a big item,, and up here very little is done. With regard to the Trust, it does compete, but it gives very long credit, and takes a class of business we aro not looking for.”
