LANTERN ENTERTAINMENT.

There was a large attendance at Holy Trinity Schoolroom last night to hear a lecture by the Rev. L. Dawson Thomas on “Scenes in Sunny New South Wales.” The lecture was illustrated with a number of beautiful slides shown by the aid of a powerful magic lantern. The railway system of the state was dealt with, its great expansion of late years being demonstrated. A number of views of Sydney were shown, including some fine nurtures of yachting on the harbor. Then were shown pictures of the Blue Mountains, showing the wonderful Jcnolan.Caves. Other pictures shown represented scenes on the Hawkesbury River, and slides showing the Australian blapks at home. The Rev. T-T. N. Wright operated the lantern. The Vicar announced that other lectures of a like nature were to foljow. During the evening songs were given bv Mrs. Lewis, and Messrs. Griffiths, Barlow, Reynolds and D. Trent.
