DUNEDIN, August 21. - This morning detectives arrested a young married man named W. P. Harrington, employed as assistant at the Mutual Stores, on a charge of stealing a largo and miscellaneous quantity of goods, supposed to be valued at over ,£IOO. The Detective Office presented the appearance of a drapery shop this afternoon, when the detectives were engaged for some hours sorting out drapery material alleged to have been stolen. The articles consist of almost everything in the drapery line. Tlie detectives had to engage an express to cart the stuff /away. When charged with the offence accused said the articles had been purchased at sales in town, and (that some of them had been brought frohi Christchurch, where lie was formerly living.
