PERSONAL.
The railway staff assembled at tlio station yesterday to bid farewell to Air G. D. Horgan, who lias been fireman on tbe Gisborno section for some time, and is now being promoted to ‘Wanganui. Air. Day, station m ister, on behalf of the railway staff presented the departing officer with a fino travelling bag, suitably inscribed. Tho speaker expressed regret at tlo departure of Air. Horgan, who hrs been very popula r both with the stiff and public, and voiced the good wishes of one and all. The rec ipient cordially thanked the company for their kindness. He mentioned that lie looked forward to the change benefiting his health, which had not been satisfactory of late. Air. W. D. Lysnar returns from Wellington on Wednesday next. Air. Broughton, clerk to the TaiRawhiti Land Board, is still incapacitated through illness. At the sittings yesterday Air. J. Brookipg carried out the duties of clerk and interpreter.
