COLONIAL PRODUCE TRADE

REPORT ON THE COMING SEASON. United Press Association —Copyright Received Sept. 1, 4.41 p.m. LONDON, August 31. Weddell’s annual review of the produce trade insists on the necessity of compulsory grading of Australian butter, such as had been given in New Zealand. They should increase the marks awarded for flavor to 70, and that the marks for texture, color, and get-up should he reduced to 20, since portion of the first-grade butter is really second-grade owing to faulty flavor. The report states that there is every indication that large supplies of butter will he available in the coming winter, hut tlie trade is so prosperous that the consumption is certain to bo well maintained. Considerably lower prices can ho expected for butter and cheese than obtained this year.
