TE RAU CLUB.

The annual meeting of the Te Rau Cricket Club was held in Townley’s Hall on Wednesday evening last, there being a large attendance. Dr. Collins presided. The report of the committee dealt exhaustively with tho operations of the past season, and mentioned that the club’s financial position was not all satisfactory. The following officers were elected: —Patron, Hon. Jas. Carroll; vice-patrons, Messrs. J. Townley and Cyril White; president, Mr. W. D. Lysnar; vicepresidents, Veu. Archdeacon Williams, Revs. Ohatterton and Cookerill, M~-a. G. K. Pz.sley and T. M. Arundel; secretary and treasurer, Mr. R. W. Cary; delegates to Poverty Biv Cricket Association, Dr. Collins. Messrs. R. W. Cary and J. H. Wack; captain for Saturdays, Mr. R. 'W. Cir.v; captain for Thursdays, Mr. J. H. Wack: seleotion committee, Dr. GVlins, Messrs. Cary and Barnby: management committee, Messrs. O. R. Olsen, Barnby, Monk, Schofield, J. FT. Wack, and Dr. Collins. The new members elected were Messrs. Baxter, Melville, Hooper, Orpwood, Elliso i. Schofield, McGuffio, Sim, Mason, Chirk. Houlihan, L. Clark, and Laver. It was resolved to hold monthly in -etings to receive reports from and instruct the delegates to the Association and deal with general matters. It was resolved to purchase a net for prietice, and to ask the Association for permission to lay down a practice wicket, as the two wickets at the Victoria Domain would not be available for some weeks. The chairman (Dr. Collins) said that lie intended to encourage young players, and hoped to see a junior competition started this season. On tlio motion of Mr. W.ick, the delegates were instructed to see if arrangements could be made for grading players.
