(Before Air. AV. A. Barton, S.AI.) Drunkenness.—Agatha Alary Tliarratt was charged with being found drunk, and was convicted and fined ISs, costs 2s, in default 18 hours’ imprisonment.
Obscene Language.—Arthur John Yokls was charged with using obscene language in a public place, to wit, the Federal dining rooms. Accused, who was representel by Air. T. A. Coleman, pleaded guilty, and was sentenced to four days’ imprisonment. Alleged Embezzlement. —Edward Cornwall Clark was charged that lie did, at Gisborne, on tho Ist August, 1907, receive the sum of £2 9s 7d ; on the 3rd August, 1907, receive the sum of £lB Is; and on the 15th August,
1907, the further sum of £3 14s 6d, on terms requiring to pay the same to Williams and Kettle, Ltd., did
fraudulently convert the same to liis own use. Air. J. AV. Nolan appeared for the prosecution, and Air. W. L. Rees lor the accused. On tho application of Air. Nolan the case was adjourned until Saturday morning at 9 o'clock. Bail was allowed, self in £IOO, and two sureties of £IOO each or one of £2OO.
