His wife calling, ho entered behind Levin and struck her on the head, knocking off her wig with tho first blow. At the second she rose and cried. “Murder! Thief!” At tho third she rushed towards tl\o window, but his wife put her hand over her mouth to stifle her, cries. He stabbed Levin from behind with the big blade of a knife. She reeled against tlio wall, and" received the*ecoml stab in the abdomen. He did not use the small blade, and his wife must have struck the second blow. Asked if she had anything to say regarding her husband’s confession, Mrs. Goold replied, “Nothing,” and fainted when told to sign the deposition.
