Tlie 6 o’clock tea was excellently catered for by Mrs. Stevens, of Patutahi'. and .about 120 sat down to table. “Tim’s Special,” tho subject of the service of song, attracted a crowded audience. The vocal music was admirably rendered by a picked choir under Mr. Ovenden, choir-master, those participating including Misses Watt _ (3), Warren (2), Stevens (2), Douglas and Harris, Messrs C. Parsons, Picken, T. Gardner, and the Rev. Gardner. Miss E. Watt presided at tho organ, and tho connective readings, necessary for the proper interpretation of the story, were delivered by Mr. D. B. Tho performance was heartily appreciated by all present, and by request tlie programme is to bo repeated in its entirety at the annual soiree of the MatawTiero Presbyterian Church on Tuesday evening next. Mr. Woodward, on behalf of ills audience, thanked the choir for

the enjoyable programme submitted that evening, Mr. Ovenden suitably acknowledging his appreciative remarks. The proceeds are in aid of the Church fund.
