TWO OBSTRUCTIONS PLACED ON THE LINE.

TIMARU, Oct. 12. Two o.ffences were committed on the railway near Timaru on Friday night. ‘ The first train for the north ran into a 541 b rail across the track at a curve ill a cutting a anile and a half out of town. The emergency brakes wore applied just too late to avoid hitting it. Half a mile further on in another curved cutting a boulder was found on the rail.
