United Press Association—Copyright (Received Oct. 10, 9.50 p.m.) NEW YORK, Oct. 10. An explosion occurred at the Dupont blasting powder mills, Fontanot, Indiana, lolk/wed by two explosions in neighboring mills, which wrecked every building in the town and killed and injured many workmen. Ninety minutes later the boat, of the burning mills caused an explosion of 10,000 kegs stored in the magazine situated in a hollow several hundred yards away, injuring many men. A freight train on a siding near the magazine caught fire, the heat rendering it impossible to rescue many who were buried in the debris of the magazine. Eighteen mangled bodies are m tho morgue awaiting identification. It is feared that there were o 0 killed and GOO injured, and 1200 rendered homeless. Two churches and several school buildings were destroyed. A school at Fontanet collapsed, injuring 50 of the 200 children. Another school, two miles away, fell, burying tho teacher and ninety pujiils.
