HOSPITAL TRUSTEES.

nJi rr ! 11 ' 1 ' meeting of the Hospital .trustees was held last night, i resent: Hon Captain Tucker (in tho chair), and Messrs Sherratt, Bright Matthews, Kenway, Macdonald, Dewing and F. J. Lysnar. Drs. Brett and Morrison were also present. The A isiting Committee reported that everything was going well at tho Hospital. It was desired that two probationers and a maid bo engaged. Extra accommodation would be needed for these.—Mr. Lysnar said two new rooms were required, and some painting and paperhanging needed to be done. It might bo well to get this work and tlio alterations to the operating theatre done at the one time.—On the motion of Mr. Matthews, Messrs Bright, Dewing, and Lysnar and the mover wero appointed a committee to report on the whole matter of building. The number of patients at tho Hospital was reported to bo as follows: In at beginning of tho month 36, admitted 49, discharged 49, died 3, in at date 33. Messrs Matthews, Macdonald, and Lysnar were appointed the Visiting Committee for tlio coming month. The Treasurer’s report showed that tho expenditure for tho month was £IOB 2s, and that tho debit balance at the bank was £441 10s Id. Accounts amounting to £385 14s 6d wero presented for payment. Tho secretary of the Foresters’ Lodge wrote forwarding a resolution passed by the Lodge asking that Dr. Collins should be appointed to the honorary staff of tho Hospital. He had been appointed doctor to the Lodge, and members wished to have his services while in hospital.—lt was resolved to reply that there was no intention to change any arrangements meantime.

It was decided to advertise for a certificated nurse to take the position of nursing sister at the Hospital. Rules showing the duties of the lady superintendent and the nursing sister were considered in committee, and adopted after discussion. The committee appointed to report on building generally was asked to consider also the matter of tho proposed new operating theatre.
