PRIDE OF ENGLAND’S sire, Earl of Salisbury, was got by Lord Salisbury (imp.) from the pure-bred Clydesdale mare Pride’s Darling, imported from Victoria (611) by Mr.. John Trestrail. Pride’s Darling’s sire was Cox’s Pride of Scotland (imp.), dam Fanny, by Bothwell (imp.). Pride of England is a beautiful bright bay horse, with black points, standing 16.3 hands, 7-year-old. He is a splendid type of an active, serviceable, good-boned horse, with the best of temper; a reliable good worker, and above all an exceptionally sure foal-getter. He was bred by J. N.
