Mr, B. Couston, supervising engineer of the waterworks contract, is to arrive from the South this morning. The funeral of Mrs. Charles Seymour took place yesterday at Wliangara, a number of town friends attending the ceremony. Lieutenant Calcott, Salvation Army, an old Gisborne identity, arrived home oil furlough on Wednesday last. Mr. Graham, who was injurod. in a trap .accident on the Taruheru bridge early this week, has not .vet recovered consciousness, though liis condition generally is better. A Press Association telegram yesterday stated: “His Excellency the Governor left for Christchurch this evening to attend the racing carnival. The party will ho the guests of Mr. A. E. G. Rhodes.”
