ENTERTAINMENTS.
“BLUEBELL IN FAIRYLAND.” A crowded audience again greeted tho performance of “Bluebell in Fairyland” by Pollard’s Juvenile Opera Company at the Theatre last night. The different items were enthusiastically received, and one and all of the artists repeated their undoubted success of the previous evening. The topical songs with local references fairly brought down the house, and the scenery- and general mounting of the piece were excellent. Everything went smoothly under the able direction of Mr. Tom Pollard, and a special word of praise should be accorded to the orchestra, whose efforts were a feature of the entertainment. Most of the members were in the now famous Exhibition orchestra at Christchurch.
“HIS HIGHNESS THE BEY.” To-night “His. Highness the Bey” is to he staged, and if it proves as successful as last night’s performance playgoers should be well content This comedy has been received with great applause everywhere it lias been produced, .and in some towns it has oven been more popular than “Bluehell.” Tlie lyrics are bright aiul tuneful, the dance music quaint and catchy, and tho dialogue is extremely funny. Master Bert NichoTson, who takes the .part of the Boy, is an exceptionally clever comedian, and his impersonation in this character has caused quite a furore all over Now Zealand. Tlie whole jiroduction will he on the same magnificent scale which characterises all Mr. Pollard’s productions. A bumper li'ouso should ho present to. farewell these popular juveniles.
