ARBITRATION COURT.

NAITER CASES. Press Association. NAPIER, Nov. 20. The Arbitration Court commenced its sittings to-day. In three cases employers, for breaches of tile drivers’ award, were fined £2, back pay to be refunded in one instance in which an employee was fined £T.' In several other cases of unintentional breaches of tho drivers’ and carpenters’ awards the fees of the Court only were ordered to be paid. In' two breaches of tbe bakers’ award a fine of £2 was imposed. One In-each of tlie_ carpentering award for not indenturing an apprentice was heard, and a fine of £5 inflicted.

In tho compensation case, Henry v. the Napier Harbor Board, the widow’s claim for the loss of life of lief husband through an accident when, working on the dredge, an order was made that compensation to tlie amount of £360, with costs £5 ss, be paid by re-, spondents. Of this amount £l2O is to be paid to tlio claimant, and the balance of £240 to the Public Trustee to bo invested by him, tho_capita] and interest to bo applied at hTs discretion for the benefit of tlie widow and child. Several other cases wero, dismissed.
