In the’Supreme Court, AVilliam Harrison, latterly of Burkes is suing the Dental Company for£2ooU, damages 'alleged to have been sustained owing to negligent and unSkilful extraction of teeth, hy which plaintiff’s throat and lungs were permanently injured. A strong Bar has been engaged, and- the case is •likely to occupy two days, it is creating considerable local interest. In Hayes v. the City Corporation, in which £5750 was claimed for land taken for street widening purposes at Kensington, the Compensation Court awarded £4IOO and costs £2 |?g LLIX : G . T oN, Nov. 21 ■At the Supreme Court to-day William Thomas Raymond, who pleaded guilty' to defiling, a girl aged 14 years, was sentenced to three jeais imprisonment with hard labor. Jas. Egan, .charged with using indecent language, was lined 40s and cost., 16s Edward Murtagh, a: jockey, was charged with wounding his illegitimate child two years old and assaultiufr Frances Leigh, the mother of the chTld. During the evidence it Was stated that a summons had been issued against Leigh, charging her with rierjury in connection with the case. Evidence was not finished when the Court roso for the day, Frederick Nicolaus, who was jesterday convicted of forgery and tering, was sentenced to 18 months imprisonment wßhhard labor. Henry Toorey,. charged with bavin" forged and uttered totalisator tickets at Auckland races, pleaded guilty, and was remanded to be dealt Wjith by the Stipendiary Magistrate, who can commit him to tne Supremo Court for sentence. Bad was allowed in two sureties of £oo and one of £IOO.
