Captain Mitchell reports that the vessel was becalmed off Portland Island, and along the coast the land was completely obscured by the smoke from the bush fires, and the ashes were falling thickly on the fearnueiitine’s deck. She brings a full cargo of coal for the "Westport Coal Company. „ „ _ Tlio N.Z. S.S. Co.’s Crown of Galicia arrives on AVednesday next from AYellington to load for Home. The Monowai arrives from Auckland on Sunday afternoon, and sails south in the evening. -The Alokoia '.arrives from South tomorrow morning, and sails for AuckThe Monowai arrived from South yesterday morning, and continued her vovage to Auckland. The U.S.S. Co.’s Hanpiri arrived early yffiterday morning from Napier, and sailed for Coast ports to load wool. , . The schooner Gisborne sailed tor Auckland yesterday afternoon.
