A HORRIBLE ASSAULT
MAN’S NECK GASHED BY A RIP SAW. United Press Association —Copyright (Received Dec. 25, 10.46 a.m.) MELBOURNE, Dec. 24. A man named Chappell, without mafliing, slashed his employer, Beach, a. contractor at Geelong, over the head with a rip saw. Beach bolted, but Chappell commenced to saw the back of his neck, inflicting a gaping wound. He suddenly desisted, remarking, “I’m sorry.” He was arrested. Beach is recovering. It is supposed that accused is suffering from sudden aberration.
