H. A. C. B. S.
HALF-YEARLY MEETING. The half-yearly meeting of the local branch of the H. A. C. B. S. was held last night, there being livery full muster of members. A lot of routine business was gone through, including the election of seven new members. The election of ollicers was well contested, and after a ballot the following were elected :—President, Bro. H. J. Alley; vice-president, Bro. F. Haughoy; treasurer, Bro. J. Lenihan; secretary, Bro. V. Peterson; warden, Bro. G. Peterson: guardian, Bro: B. McXaughton: sick visitors, Bros. P. Garvin and Lenilian : auditors, Rev. Father Lane and Bro. E. Williams. The secretary’s report showed that the society was very fortunate as regards sickness. Only £4 had had to bo paid, and of this £2 should have appeared among the previous half-year’s expenditure. Appereiative reference was mado to the number of young members joining and to the interest they evinced in the society. The out-ftoing officers—Messrs Graham (President) and M. M. o’Halloran (secretary)—returned thanks for the support- accorded them during their term of office, and stated that though out of office tliev would still give the society all possible assistance and that they hoped at some future elate to again stand for election.
