SERIOUS ACCIDENT AT CHRISTCHURCH.
A CHILD SCALDED TO DEATH
Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, Jan. 15. A little- boy named- John James Foster, two and a half years of age, die only son of Air. Edmund J. Foster, M-uwkesbury-street-, Addington, was taken to the hospital on (Sunday, suffering from severe scalds, caused by failing into a bath of boiling water. The-child died on the following day, and at. the inquest held yesterday a verdict, was returned that death was caused by shock from scalding. From tlieeviden.ee it appeared that the- father had filled the tub with boiling water, preparatory to having a bath, and then left the room for a few moments. On his return. just as lie got to the door, liesaw the child fall into the tub. He immediately took him out and rubbed Hour -ill over him, and had him conveyed to the hospital. The best medical attention was bestowed on him. but the little sufferer died on Alonday.
