Mr. F. Hall returned from South yesterday morning. The Rev. Air. Ward will temporarily officiate in place of the Rev. AI. Butterfield.

Air. F. AV. Griffiths, of Xicholls and Griffiths, is at present seriously ill in a private hospital. The Rev. AV. Lamb, recently appointed pastor of the local Baptist : church, arrived from Napier yesterday, and will conduct the services at the church on Sunday. Mr. A. L. Muir, editor of tho “Poverty Bay Herald,” aud Airs. Muir proceeded South by the A’ictoria last night on holiday. At St. Alary’s Church vesterdav afternoon Air J. H. Norcross of Aliiti, AAaimata, was married to Aliss Alary Donn'ellan, eldest daughter of Mr Patrick Donnellau,' of Nelson Creek, Greymouth, the Rev. FatherLane performing the ceremony. Thebride was given away bv Air T. Alunro. The bridesmaids were Aliss Susan Donnellau, sister of the bride „ and Aliss Daisy Dever.v, and Mr Benson acted as best man, After the ceremony a reception was held at* the residence of Air. J. P. English, The happy couple wero the -recipients of many costly presents, including gifts from Messrs Redstone aud Sous, and the employees of the firm. Mr and Airs Norcross left by the ATictoria last night- on their honeymoontrip to Auckland and Rotorua via Wanganui and New Plymouth.
