The condition of Mr. AV. llackett, who lias been in the Hospital tor time suffering from typhoid fever, is causing his friends some anxiety. Lit is stated on good authority that Colonel T. AV. Porter, President of the Tai-Rawliiti Maori Land Board, relinquishes that position at the end of the present month. It is more than probable that Mr. Alex.
