THE VANCOUVER SERVICE

NEW ZEALAND’S LAXITY denied.

Press Association. WELLINGTON, Jan. 18

The replv received by che Premier from Sir Wilfrid Laurier, Premier of Canada, shows that the cablegram relating to the- alleged failure of the New Zealand Government to answer certain correspondence relating to the Vancouver mail contract, had no foundation in fact. Sir Wilfrid Laurier cables as follows: “The statement was incorrect. All I said was that the contract for the renewal of the Canada-New Zealand-Australia . service had been prepared and signed hero by the Minister of Trade and Commerce, and sent to the contractor for signature, but that it had not yet been received back.”
